In November 2014, Daimler announced the Maybach name as a sub-brand of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222), positioned as an upscale version akin to the more sporty Mercedes-AMG sub-brand. Now we have the new Mercedes Benz Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC.

Maybach is offering this luxury SUV as the GLS600 which comes loaded to the brim with lavish features and loads of customization options to choose from. It is a two-row SUV, despite the insane size but that is expected from a Maybach-treated SUV, for the ultimate luxury experience. This luxury SUV doesn’t just make you feel special but also packs the performance to face the vibrant bunch of competitors.

The 2021 Maybach GLS 600 is powered by a 4.0L Twin-Turbo V8 that produced 550 hp and 538 lb-ft. It comes standard with Mercedes-Benz’s capable 4MATIC AWD system. This is also the same engine that is used in the bonkers Mercedes-AMG GLS63, which is an even more athletic brother of this plush one. This V8 unit is tuned to provide 603 horses in its AMG iteration.

An SUV of this size might look like it takes its royal time to eat up tarmac but that’s not the case. The 2021 Maybach GLS does the 0-60 mph run in 4.8 seconds which is impressive for this 5,000+ lbs. of lux-appeal. The main factors responsible for such a seamless rush after the engine, of course, is its slick 9-Speed Automatic transmission and the fact that it comes with a notable hybrid assist.
